Teyana is long past that phase and even her Sweet 16 skater phase, or at least that's what I've been getting from the vibe of these past two projects. I had at least 10 text messages on Friday from people asking me if I'd listened to her latest album. I wanted to wait until I had time to sit down and listen to it top to bottom, so I waited until Monday to do so and I wasn't disappointed.
It's the perfect vibe for the rainy day we had here. Her unique tone and the 90's and early 00's samples that were used on so many tracks were just what I needed to get me through my work day. And the project has 23 tracks! I don't know how long she'd been working on it, but she did a phenomenal job with this album. Kehlani, Missy Elliott, Ms. Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu, Big Sean, and even her daughter Junie are just a few of the artists that were featured on the project and each brought something special to it.
