I've published a few posts about my mental health journey on here.  I've talked abouttherapyandyoga, but it hit me last week that I haven't touched too much on meditation.  One of the perks of living by myself is that I get a lot of time alone to reflect and be.  I'm able to come home, put my phone on 'do not disturb' and not be bothered.  I don't do that too often, but there are times when it's necessary.  I know that this might sound weird, but I consider myself an extroverted introvert.  I'm the type of person who can never meet a stranger, I light up in rooms, but I also need time alone to recharge.  In fact, with all of the traveling I've been doing recently, it's time for a recharging weekend.

I currently don't have any plans for the Fourth of July weekend and I'm actually looking forward to a weekend of disconnecting.  I'm thinking about making some homemade soup in my InstaPot, putting on a Harry Potter marathon and just relaxing, meditating and being.  I love guided meditations!  It's nice to sit in silence, but sometimes my mind starts to wander and I need someone to gently nudge me back on track and that's where guided meditation comes in.  There are tons of videos and apps for this (Headspace is a great one), but I found out last week that there are TONS of meditation playlists on Spotify.  In fact, there's a Headspace playlist on there!  I saved a few to a folder on my account and plan on downloading them for plane rides in case I need to nap or decompress.  But I wanted to share the Headspace one with y'all today.  It's great for beginners, great for anyone really, but really good for beginners.  Take a listen below and let me know if meditation is something you're already doing or if it's something you want to add to your mental health routine!
