So I got the idea of this fromMeghanand decided to run with it. I've seen something like it on other blogs, but it was her encouragement that tipped me over to doing it.
I'm not sure if y'all read the15 day post I did on Sunday, but I mentioned that I have over 16,000 songs on my iPod. It's actually 16,901; and that's not including videos, pictures and podcasts. I love music. I'm a connoisseur of music. And I want to share this passion with y'all.
I wanted to kick things off with one of my favorite Canadian artists, I have a few of those now. I actually sawJustin Nozukaon an episode of Degrassi before I knew who he was, before he even started singing professionally. He was on there with his brother, playing the brother to his brother's character. Big stretch, right?! Well Justin didn't make his big debut on the music scene until years later with the song After Tonight on his debut record 'Holly' in 2007.
The melody is catchy and his voice glides so gracefully over it. Add in the guitar? SOLD!! I quickly got the album and I wasn't disappointed. With songs like
Mr. Therapy Man
Golden Train
Save Him
and I'm in Peace
I knew that he was going to be an artist that I would have on regular rotation. And then he dropped his sophomore album!! Let's just say that there wasn't a sophomore slump in this case. 'You I Wind Land and Sea'. Some of my favorites from it are
Soulless Man
My Heart is Yours
Heartless
and my absolute favorite song from the album, Carried You
I can't even begin to touch on how talented this guy is. I wish he'd come down to Houston for a show. If you're reading this Justin, come to Houston!!
If you're a fan of Jason Mraz or John Mayer, you'll like this guy. Check him out and let me know what y'all think!!
