Last Friday I went home and binge watched the new season of 'Orange is the New Black'. I started Friday evening around 6pm and with a break for sleeping I finished the season around 5pm on Saturday.It was way more intense than last season and I live-tweeted part of it before I gave up and just watched the show. If you haven't finished watching the entire season I think you should stop reading. There will be spoilers. #You'veBeenWarnedFirst of all I loved all the back-stories this season. It was nice not to have another season centered around Chapman and it let us get to know the other supporting characters better. This season I fell even more in love with Taystee and Poussey. I already loved their friendship, but their back-stories gave me even more understanding to it.

I wish they would've gotten together after this scene. My heart went out to Poussey after seeing what she went through with her ex.We found out that Poussey grew up an army brat and was dragged around the globe with her dad. It was when her family was stationed in Germany that she fell in love and I think that's when she had her first heart-breaking break-up. Her girlfriend's father caught them in bed and had Poussey's father sent back to the States.I cried a lot during this season, especially when it came to Poussey's storyline, and the following scene really brought the waterworks.

I feel like I'm getting ahead of myself though, let me back up. This season we were introduced to Taystee's mom, Vee. Boythat's a bad mamajama! We find out that this is a trip back to prison for her and that she had bad blood with Red.

but it didn't start off that way.

They were actually friends for a bit until Vee became a bully and took over Red's contraband distribution. And of course history repeated itself this season.Vee used past connections to start selling cigarettes and had some of the black girls dealing for her.

This was a role she was used to on the outside, that's how she met Taystee.

Vee got in Taystee's head like she did when Taystee was younger and knew that she had to get rid of anything that would stand in the way of keeping Taystee loyal to her. That meant isolating Poussey out and even going as far as getting her beat up.

It took a few episodes and even a stabbing of the wrong person to get Vee's underlings to see the wrong in their ways.

She should've worn her glasses and Vee would've been gone earlier in the season.
This is by no means a full recap of the season, just a few of my favorite parts. Like I said, I really like the Poussey/Taystee storyline but I did appreciate some others.

I plan on re-watching the season, pacing myself this time and seeing if I missed anything the first time.
I can't wait for season 3, I saw that they're already filming that!
