I sawthis tweet from Tiffany D. Jacksonfloat across my timeline yesterday and it got me thinking. We need to be prepared no matter what tomorrow's results are. I'll actually be working a polling location tomorrow for Election Day, but I only plan on going to the location and coming back home. There have been so many reports of voter intimidation and domestic terroristic threats in Texas just this past week, and those coupled with the fact that we're still in the middle of a pandemic have nixed all election watch party ideas for me.

Tensions and anxiety are at an all-time high and now's the perfect time for a joy tool kit. It's supposed to be 5 things that can bring you instant joy. According toTiffany's tweet, it can be a picture, a song, a coloring book, a specific drive, a game, the beach…, but they have to bring you joy. So I decided to share mine with y'all today.
Holiday Music It's no secret that I start playingChristmas musicstarting August 10, but I will likely ramp it up this year. Jojo and Tori Kelly dropped new projects, Leslie Odom Jr. has a new one coming out and then of course there are the classics. They always bring a smile to my face so I'll be bumping those this week.
CBD I told y'allearlier this summer that I recently started taking CBDfor stress and anxiety and they've really helped! My go-to are tinctures that can be taken sublingually and dropped in drinks and gummies that I pop before bed.
Holiday Movies Once again, it's no secret thatI love the corny holiday movies on Lifetime and Hallmark. In fact, Lifetime is now running Christmas movies 24/7 so I won't have to search too hard to find a movie to make me smile.
Checking in with my loved ones I feel like the calls and texts will be mutually beneficial. We'll be able to make sure that everyone is not only safe, but has what they need.
My Kindle App Whether I'm reading something by James Patterson, Sandra Brown, Luvvie Ajayi Jones or even re-reading the Harry Potter series for the 50-11th time, I love getting lost in a good book. I've paired my physical collection down over the years so it's nice to have all of my books in my Kindle library that I can access on so many devices.
What about y'all? What 5 things can you add to your Joy Tool Kit to help you this week?
