These are two of my favorite quotes by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I've been hearing them for years and would be lying if I said that they've shown up in numerous assignments throughout my college career and have encouraged me during times when I was re-thinking my major and future career choices.

Dr. King's words are so much deeper than color, so much deeper than gender. They cover it all. An injustice anywhere, in any situation, to any person is a threat to justice everywhere.

On this holiday I'm encouraging people to reflect on how far we've come as a country so far, but also think about how far we can go. We've re-elected President Obama and that's amazing, it really says something about this nations' people. But what about 2016? Barack Obama can't run again? Are we going to go back to our old ways? Or has the change we've experienced these past few years continue to take place?
