I saw this on Pinterest and wished that it was relevant today. I'm pretty everyday, but that wasn't the reason why I wasn't in the office today. It's been raining cats and dogs for a few weeks here in Houston and last night it really came down.

That was one of the entrances of our complex at work this morning. The road is under water.

Another shot of the same entrance a little bit later. Allen Parkway floods very easily and all that rain in such a short amount of time did the job.

My boss emailed us early this morning and told us to stay where we were and stay safe. I kept the news on for most of the day as I took care of business and watched as cars were stuck on roads, stalled on freeways and as fatalities were announced. My heart and prayers go out to everyone who was affected and I know that our city will bounce back. It might take a bit for the water to recede all the way, but we'll bounce back. Keep Houston in y'alls prayers, please.
