I'm sure everyone's seen those eHarmony, Match.com, and more recently the Farmers Only commercials.
If you haven't seen the hilarity of those, check it out. I couldn't stop laughing.

Anywho! since it seems to be the time of online dating I guess something like the show Catfish is appropriate. This by no means is the first time that people have discussed people pretending to be something other than themselves online, but I think that this show is the first of its kind to show people that it still happens and that it still happens and though we (read: this generation) regard ourselves as being the type to not fall for that people still do.
I have to say though, some of these scenarios on Catfish make me seriously give those people a side eye and I've definitely made this face while watching an episode:

I've told y'all about my rules when it came to online dating and I did that so I didn't end up in situations like some of the people on the show.
I mean, who dates a guy online for 8 months and never thinks to Skype them? Better yet, who has a relationship via text with someone for TWO YEARS and is content with only actually hearing their voice twice during that time period.
Not all of the episodes have ended badly though. There was one episode that actually ended on a good note. One person was pretending to be someone else, but her girlfriend ended up not caring.

It was a touching episode.
It seems like it's only been about 3 episodes so far, and nothing's been too crazy, I just hope it stays that way.
